Mahindra XEV 9S and XEV 9e Available Under BaaS Scheme: Variant-Wise Prices Detailed

Mahindra Auto, one of the key players in the Indian automobile market, has now introduced the XEV 9S and XEV 9e under the Battery-as-a-Service scheme to make these expensive electric SUVs more affordable at the time of purchase and reduce barriers to electric vehicle adoption. The BaaS price for these models varies from one another depending on the variant; let’s have a closer look.

Model-wise BaaS prices.

The XEV 9S is available for sale in the Indian market with three different battery packs, which are 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh; and the XEV 9e with only two battery packs, 59 kWh and 70 kWh. 

Notably, the XEV 9S under the BaaS scheme has one variant for 59 kWh and 70 kWh battery packs and four variants with 79 kWh; on the other hand, the XEV 9e has one variant with 59 kWh battery packs and three variants with 79 kWh. Purchasing a car under the BaaS scheme means one pays the price of a car without the battery pack and is ready to pay the battery usage charges. For the case of the XEV 9S and XEV 9e, the battery usage charge is ₹3.75 per km. Owners with an average monthly driving range of 5,000 km will have to pay ₹18,750 every month.

Mahindra XEV BaaS Scheme Price

The XEV 9S is a seven-seater all-electric SUV with a 2-3-2 seating arrangement, and the XEV 9e is a five-seater in a 2-3 layout. These models are available for sale with the rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, as they get a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a single-speed automatic gearbox. 

The XEV 9S’s electric motor generates power of 170 kW, 180 kW, and 210 kW with the 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery pack, respectively. The ARAI-certified range is up to 679 km, and it supports fast DC chargers that take only 20 minutes for 20 to 80 percent charging.

Its length, width, and height are 4,737 mm, 1,900 mm, and 1,747 mm, respectively, with a 2,762 mm wheelbase. Its front and rear suspensions are independent suspension with i-LINK technology and independent 5-link suspension, respectively, and the wheels have ventilated discs. 

On the other hand, the XEV 9e’s e-motor puts out 170 kW and 210 kW power with the 59 kWh and 79 kWh, respectively; peak torque for both is 380 Nm. On the full charger, the Latha battery pack gives the MIDC-certified 656 km range. Its acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 6.8 seconds.

Dimensionally, it is 4,789 mm longer, 1,907 mm wider, and 1,694 mm taller, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm and ground clearance of 207 mm. It has five driving modes: they are Default, Range, Everyday, Race, and Snow. There’s a boot space of 663 liters and a frunk of 150 liters. 

For the occupants’ safety, it gets a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, up to 7 airbags, ABS and ESP, a 360-degree camera, and blind-spot monitoring. Other key features are a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch co-passenger display.
