The Renault Kwid facelift launched in Brazil with three variants: Evolution, Techno, and Outsider, whose prices are R$ 71,090 (₹13.19 lakh), R$ 75,990 (₹14.10 lakh), and R$ 84,890 (₹15.75 lakh). In Brazil this car has been available for sale since August 2017, which got a facelift in January 2022, and now the same one has received an additional facelift in August 2027. The facelift version of this car is all set to be known as the 2027 model year.
It’s been 10 years since the model has been available for sale in the Brazilian market. The facelift now has more strength in its positioning against the rival in the domestic market. The second facelift of this car has received many upgrades and changes on its exterior and interior to make it more appealing to buyers. By July 2026, around 5.5 lakh units had been delivered, and the arrival of the facelift is all set to further boost sales in Brazil.
What changes has the Kwid second facelift received?
As for the facelift, the Kwid has major upgrades in its front end. Upfront, it has a sharper front bumper, an all-new gloss-black grill with a brand logo, and LED daylight running lights as standard. On the sides, the Outsider variant gets 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, black body cladding, and a dual-toned roof. At the back, it gets a revised taillamp, shark fin antenna, and reverse camera on the rental badge.
They have introduced the facelift, not only an exterior refresh but also interior. Its cabin has a totally new dashboard with a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster under the steering wheel. Its Outsider version is equipped with 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment that supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other upgrades include 2 USB charging ports to add phone charging convenience, updated seat upholstery and trim across the cabin, a redesigned center console, and a rear parking sensor to enhance parking practicality. They also improved safety features with four airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
There’s no change in dimensions, underpinning, or powertrain.
Its length, width, and height are 3,731 mm, 1,579 mm, and 1,481 mm. 5 seats are available inside the cabin with 2-3 layouts. Its wheelbase is 2,423 mm and 185 mm long. A boot space of 290 liters that is expandable by floating rear seats. The wheelbase of 2,423 mm is one among the leading in the segment, which enhances high-speed stability and also provides ample legroom for rear-seat passengers.
It is still built on the Renault-Nissan CMF-A platform with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. Under the hood, it has a 99 cc 1.0-liter SCe 3-cylinder flex-fuel internal combustion engine with a five-speed manual transmission. This ICE delivers 71 hp power and 98 Nm torque with ethanol-blended petrol but 68 hp and 92 Nm with pure petrol.
The claimed fuel efficiency with pure petrol is 14.4 kmpl for city driving and 15.4 for highway cruising. The rear-world range is set to vary depending on the driving condition. In case of using ethanol-blended fuel, the mileage is set to be lower than pure petrol; however, they haven’t disclosed the actual figure for them.
Will this facelift also come to the Indian market?
The Kwid has been on sale in the Indian market since September 2015; this car gets only one facelift, back in October 2019. In May 2022, it received some feature upgrades. It’s been almost 7 years, and there’s no facelift for this model. We are expecting that its second facelift, the same as the one recently introduced in the Brazilian market, will also come to India, but can’t say anything about the timeline.
