Kiger Turbo Now Starts at ₹7.89L: ₹1.46L Cheaper Than Before

Renault, a French automobile manufacturer, has launched four new variants for the Renault Kiger, a compact SUV, which are the Evolution+ MT, the Evolution+ AMT, the Evolution+ Turbo MT, and the Techno Turbo MT. The ex-showroom price for the first, second, third, and fourth ones is ₹6.99 lakh, ₹7.45 lakh, ₹7.89 lakh, and ₹8.45 lakh, respectively. 

The newly introduced Evolution+ trim is placed between Evolution and Techno. The first two are equipped with a 1.0 liter, 999 cc, 3-cylinder NA petrol-powered internal combustion engine, and the last two with a 1.0 liter, 999 cc, 3-cylinder turbocharged one. With the addition of these four variants, it is now available in a total of 13 variants; refer to the listed points to check the variant-wise ex-showroom price:

Naturally Aspirated Petrol:

  • Authentic MT: ₹5.81 lakh
  • Evolution MT: ₹6.55 lakh
  • Evolution+ MT: ₹6.99 lakh

The NA engine is available with a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission option, and the turbo engine with a 5-speed manual and X-Tronic continuous variable transmission. The NA engine generates a maximum power of 72 PS and peak torque of 96 Nm, and the turbo does 100 PS power but torque of 160 Nm and 152 Nm of torque for manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. 

The ARAI-certified mileage is 19 kmpl for the variant equipped with a naturally aspirated ICE with either gearbox, and fuel efficiency for the variant with the turbocharged ICE is 20.6 km/l with a manual and 19.0 km/l with the automatic transmission. To accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h, the variant with the NA engine takes around 7 seconds, but the turbo engine variant does the work in under 6 seconds, and top speed ranges from 150 km/h to 175 km/h, depending on the variant.

The Evaluation+ comes with five key feature upgrades: the first one is a smart access card and push start or stop to enter the cabin using the car and ignite the ICE by pressing the button; the second is an adjustable drive seat so the one driving can find a comfortable seating position; the third is wireless phone replication to connect with the infotainment system via wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; the fourth is auto AC to maintain the cabin temperature without any manual input; and the fifth is lightly embossed fabric upholstery to enhance seating comfort.

The Techno variant was earlier available only with the automatic transmission, but now they have also introduced it with a manual transmission. Besides the above-mentioned changes, no other upgrades are made. The cabin still has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel, which mounts the sound control, and an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard.

The length, width, and height are 3,991 mm, 1,750 mm, and 1,605 mm, respectively. Comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3, with a boot space of 405 liters. The wheelbase measures 2,500 mm, and ground clearance is 205 mm, ideal for Indian road conditions, and it can easily pass potholes and speed breakers. It features a full tank capacity of 40 liters, with an average mileage of 16 km/h; it can run up to 640 kilometres after each refueling of the tank.
