After teasing the front-end lighting signature of the Sierra EV, now Tata Motors has released a teaser video revealing that the seventh upcoming pure-electric vehicle from the manufacturer will also be available with a dual-motor setup, featuring a quad-wheel drive drivetrain to better grip on slippery and gravel roads. The video reveals its rear view and wheel design. Let’s have a closer look.
Exterior details
From the back, a full-width LED taillight on the tailgate is visible, creating a wide stance. Other notable things on the back of the car are Tata’s logo and ‘SIERRA.EV’ lettering on the minimalist tailgate, giving the uncluttered rear view; a brushed-silver faux skid plate on the bumper to add ruggedness and a tough look; a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna reflecting it has connected car technology; and roof rails to help in towing boxes on the roof.

A full in-profile view is still pending, but the video they have shared shows it is equipped with diamond-cut alloy wheels, but the size is still uncertain. The previously teased image has already revealed that it has full-width LED daylight running lights below the boot, giving it a futuristic and modern look, and sharp LED headlight units in a horizontal shape to ensure better illumination on the road for nighttime driving.
Powertrain options
Tata Motors will introduce the Sierra EV with two lithium iron phosphate battery packs. However, they haven’t revealed the capacity of the same. Many reports have mentioned that the carmaker will launch with 65 kWh and 75 kWh, similar to the Harrier EV. If offered with the same, the ARAI-certified range is anticipated to be above 500 km.

It is certain that they will launch the Sierra EV in three main variants: the first one will get a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a one-speed automatic gearbox on the rear axle with standard battery pack; the second one’s motor setup is set to be the same as the first one’s, but it will come with a large battery pack; and the third one will get all from the second one and an induction motor on the front axle.
They will launch the first two variants as rear-wheel drive and the last one as all-wheel drive (quad-wheel drive), for the buyers who want vehicles that run smoothly even on slippery terrain. The carmaker will reveal the power output, peak torque, acceleration timing, top speed, battery pack, charging output and time, and other technical details for each variant at the launch event.
Interior features
Tata Motors will introduce the Sierra EV with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout that we found in its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart. With a wheelbase of 2,730 mm, it will provide more ample legroom than the one being sold with a traditional powertrain because of the flat floor. Behind the second row, it may feature the same 622-liter trunk to carry luggage.

The dashboard is most anticipated to get a three-screen setup: a digital instrument cluster is set to be available under the steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system is anticipated to be the center of the dashboard, and an entertainment screen is anticipated before the co-passenger seat in the top-end variant. An augmented reality head-up display is also expected to project driving data on the windshield.
Pricing expectation
As Tata Motors is going to position the Sierra EV between the Currv EV and Harrier EV, which are available for sale with ex-showroom price ranges from ₹16.99 lakh to ₹22.24 lakh and ₹21.49 lakh and ₹30.23 lakh, we are expecting they will launch the upcoming one between ₹19.5 lakh and ₹26.5 lakh. We will get to know the actual price on the day of launch, June 30, 2026, via a revealing event.
