On June 19, 2026, Nissan India, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan, released new images for the Nissan Tekton, the mid-size SUV, the same car which they are all set to launch in the Indian market on July 9, 2026. The newly released images have an unveiled exterior; let’s have a closer look at its styling:
- At the front end, it gets full-width LED daytime running lights, giving it a futuristic look; three-unit main headlights on both corners for better visibility on the road during the night; bold TEKTON lettering on the bonnet, reflecting the brand identity; and an illuminated Tekton emblem on the grille with a full-width red strip, enhancing its modernness at night.
- On the sides, we get pull-type mechanical door handles for the front gate to ensure better practicality, but for the rear one, it is placed on the C-pillar, and it is hidden for better aerodynamics that improve efficiency; roof rails help in carrying the box roof; multi-spoke alloy wheels enhance the road presence; blackout wheel arch cladding adds SUV toughness; and double-tone ORVMs enhance its side view.
- The rear boasts a twin-ridge spoiler for better airflow; full-width LED taillights with the Nissan emblem in the centre connect with the through-type C-shaped taillamp; the minimalist tailgate with ‘TEKTON’ lettering on the tailgate gives the uncluttered view; the rugged rear bumper adds SUV characteristics; and the large one gives a clear view of the rear.
They are yet to reveal its interior. Inside, it will feature a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with decent boot space to carry luggage. Reportedly, it will get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard with a multi-speaker sound system to enhance the infotainment experience.
The infotainment screen will feature Android-based operating system support, over-the-air software updates, connected car technology and a voice assistant. Most likely to come with wireless connectivity via not only Bluetooth but also Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smooth audio and video streaming. Other feature expectations are the following:
- A wireless phone charging pad on the centre console for the convenience of the driver and co-passenger during
- Multi-colour ambient lighting across the dashboard to enhance premiumness

For the safety of the occupants, this car is set to be equipped with six airbags and may also feature a level 2 advanced driving assistant system. It is also expected to get electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
The carmaker hasn’t revealed the dimensions. As the Tekton shares its underpinnings with the new-generation Renault Duster, we are expecting that it will measure around 4.4 metres long with a wheelbase of approximately 2.7 metres.
The ground clearance is anticipated to be above 200 mm, making it ideal for Indian road conditions, so it can easily navigate through the potholes and speed breakers.
Reportedly, the carmaker will offer the Nissan Tekton with two different petrol-powered internal combustion engine options: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder and a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged, whose power outputs are 100 hp and 163 hp, respectively.
They will introduce both engines with a five-speed manual gearbox, and the more powerful one will also come with a 7-speed DCT. It is built on the CMF-B (Common Module Family-B) platform, featuring a front-wheel drive configuration.
The price is still pending; reports suggest that Nissan will launch it with an ex-showroom price between ₹11 lakh and ₹20 lakh. Following the launch, it will compete with the Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
