French automobile brand Citroën’s Indian subsidiary, Citroën India, has finally launched the Citroën eC3X, a pure-electric 5-door hatchback with crossover-inspired styling, on June 17, 2026, with the starting ex-showroom price of ₹10.25 lakh. It is the successor to the Citroën eC3; compared to the same newly introduced model, it is ₹1.7 lakh cheaper. Let’s have a closer look at the electric car.
Powertrain and performance
Starting with the powertrain and performance, this car is mounted with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle. Notably, the PMSM is mated with a single-speed automatic transmission. Since the e-motor is mounted on the front axle, it features a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. Reportedly, the electric motor generates the power of 57 hp and a peak torque of 143 Nm.
Under the floor, the e-hatchback gets a 29.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. After each full charge, it gives a range of 325 kilometres on the modified Indian driving cycle. The real-world range is still reported; we expect, for city driving, highway cruising and mixed driving, 250 to 290 km, 180 to 230 km and 220 to 260 km, respectively.
The carmaker claims that to sprint from 0 to 60 km/h it takes 6.8 seconds and it can reach a maximum speed of 107 km/h. It supports a DC (direct current) charger up to 30 kW, which takes only 57 minutes for 0 to 80 per cent charging. With a 3.3 kW AC (alternating current) charger, it takes 10 hours 30 minutes for a full charge.
Underpinning and braking

Moving to its underpinning and braking, this e-car is built on Stellantis’ Common Modular Platform (CMP) – Smart Car architecture, whose front suspension is an independent MacPherson strut with coil springs, featuring better ride comfort and good steering stability, and whose rear is a twist beam axle with coil springs, providing stable ride quality for daily driving.
The disc manages braking for the front wheels, but rear-wheel braking is done via the drum. Compared to drums, the discs provide strong braking power with better heat absorption; in the case of the eC3X, the drums for the rear wheels are standard. For braking safety, it features ABS with EBD, an Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Interior and features

Turning to the interior, this car features a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with a boot space of 315 litres for carrying luggage. It comes with the dual-tone blue and beige cabin theme and leatherette upholstery for the seats. Get a three-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons under which there’s a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster which shows the speedometer, battery charge level, driving range, trip information, etc.
At the centre of the dashboard, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. Also features USB connectivity and voice commands. The infotainment system is integrated with a 6-speaker JBL sound system to ensure a better audio experience.
The centre console has a wireless charging pad, which helps in charging the phone conveniently. Other notable features are the auto-dimming IRVM to get clear of the vehicle running behind; the powered window that helps in easily raising and lowering window glasses; and six airbags which play a crucial role in saving lives in case of any unfortunate collision.
Exterior and design
Lastly, taking a closer look at the exterior, this electric car measures 3,981 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, and 1,604 mm in length. The wheelbase is 2,540 mm, and the ground clearance is 170 mm. Upfront, it gets an LED projector headlamp, V-shaped LED daylight running lights, and a blacked-out bumper with a skid plate.
On the sides, it gets 15-inch alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding, electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear-view mirrors with integrated blinkers, roof rails, and flush-type door handles; and at the rear, it features corner-mounted tail lamps, a black bumper with a faux-silver skid plate, and a large tailgate.
