Invicto Gets 9 km/l More Than Innova Crysta: But Is It the Better MPV?
On June 4, 2026, Toyota India launched the 2026 Toyota Innova Crysta, a multipurpose vehicle, with the ex-showroom price ranging from ₹19.72 lakh to ₹26.73 lakh; its main rival in the Indian market is the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, also an MPV, which is available for sale in India with the ex-showroom price between ₹24.97 lakh and ₹28.61 lakh. The Invicto is 20 mm shorter and 20 mm narrower, but 5 mm taller compared to the Innova Crysta. Notably, the Invicto has a 100 mm longer wheelbase, and the Crysta has a 3-litre bigger fuel tank with a 0.1 metre better turning radius. In terms of seating layout, both are the same; 7-seaters get captain’s seats in the middle row, but 8-seaters feature a bench type.

Compared to the Innova Crysta, the Invicto gets a 2.1-inch larger touchscreen infotainment system but one fewer airbag and 61 litre small cargo capacity. The former one doesn’t have ventilated front seats, a sunroof, an advanced driving assistant system, a memory function for the driver’s seat, or a 360° camera.

In terms of underpinning, the Innova Crysta is extremely durable and robust, better suited to rough roads and potholes, and, on the other hand, the Invicto is lighter and more fuel-efficient with better ride comfort and refinement. The former’s suspension is stronger, which provides better wheel control on rough roads, and the latter’s is lighter and simpler, which improves fuel efficiency.

The Invicto has 407 cc less displacement and 36 PS less power output but can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h 4 seconds faster, has 5 km/h more speed, and features 9.02 km/l more fuel efficiency compared to the Innova Crysta. The former has two fewer driving modes and only a manual transmission, and the latter has only an automatic gearbox and features a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain.
