Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (2026 Facelift) in India on June 15, 2026, with the plug-in hybrid electric powertrain, in a single variant, which is set to be the 450e. The German carmaker may introduce the ex-showroom price between ₹2 crore and ₹2.4 crore. Following the launch, it will compete with the Porsche Panamera, Audi A8 L and BMW 7 Series.
Notably, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (2026 Facelift) 450e is built on EQ Hybrid Technology, which gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine under the hood and a permanent magnet synchronous motor that is mounted with the rear axle. The combined power output is 435 hp (320 kW), and peak torque is 680 Nm (502 lb-ft).
To power the electric motor, it is set to get a 22 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack, which gives the pure-electric WLTP range of 100 km. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 5.7 seconds, and it has a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Its drivetrain is rear-wheel drive, as a motor is on the rear axle, and features a nine-speed automatic transmission.

At the front-end, it features a large grill with horizontal slats with the tri-star chrome motifs, a three-pointed star LED daylight running light signature inside the headlamp house which features micro-LED digital light technology with a high-beam distance of up to 600 metres, and a sporty bumper with the enclosed air intakes to ensure better cooling.
In the profile, it has fifty spokes; large alloy wheels enhance its road presence and premiumness; flush-type door handles; body-coloured powered outside rearview mirrors for rear traffic view with side indicators to give the turn signal for traffic ahead; and flush-type handles for doors to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics.
On the back, it has three-pointed star LED motifs in the tail lamps to enhance the rear lighting signature, a sporty bumper with cleaner lines giving it a sportier appearance, and the Mercedes-Benz emblem on the trunk lid reflecting the brand identity.
The length is 5,289 mm (208.2 inches), width is 1,954 mm (76.9 inches), and height is 1,503 mm (59.2 inches). It has a wheelbase of 3,216 mm (126.6 inches) and a ground clearance of 130 mm (5.12 inches). As a four-door sedan, it will feature a seating capacity of 5 people with a cargo capacity of 345 litres.
The dashboard is equipped with three screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster placed before the driver showing all the driving data; a 14.4-inch infotainment system screen mounted in the centre that acts as the control panel of the cabin, which supports both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; and a 12.3-inch display as the front seating passenger entertainment screen. The overall setup gives the high-tech feel.

The entire cockpit runs on the MB.OS operating system with the MBUX digital architecture, which features a powered digital assistant, Google Maps navigation, V2X communication, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and software-defined vehicle functions. The cabin features a powered air vent, which can also be adjusted manually.
The front row has a few physical buttons too for shortcuts and also features a 100W USB-C port, illuminated cup holders, a double wireless phone charging pad, and ambient lighting. For the rear seating passengers’ entertainment and other purposes, there are two 13.1-inch screens that are mounted on the front seats’ backs, which also have integrated high-definition cameras for video conferencing using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.
Both front seats come with heating, ventilation and massage functions, and even the seat belts are heated. It also features multi-zone automatic climate control with advanced air filtration for comfort and convenience, facial recognition for user profiles, a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade, and 4D surround sound with Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience inside the cabin.
