Now, it gets black ORVMs instead of body-coloured ones; with this change, now it creates contrast against lighter paint colours to make its overall view eye-catching. Replacing the chrome accents from the bumpers, it got gloss-black trims on it to make the front and rear look sharper. There are also subtle changes on the roof; it receives a contrasting black finish, creating a floating effect.

Not only the exterior; its interior also got some upgrades, including black Nappa leather upholstery for a more luxurious feel, anthracite open-pore oak wood trim for a more modern and sophisticated cabin appearance, and black illuminated door sills, which increase the premium feel at night driving.

It also has received some feature upgrades; the head-up display (HUD) now comes as standard, meaning buyers needn’t pay extra to get it. Its specification is that it projects crucial driving data on the windscreen to ensure that the driver stays focused on driving by keeping his/her eyes on the road.

Besides these changes, both the GLE and GLS remain the same in size and powertrain. The GLE is a five-seater car with a seating layout of 2-3 featuring a boot space of 630 litres; it is 4,926 mm longer, 2,018 mm wider, and 1,797 mm taller, and its wheelbase is 2,995 mm. The five-seater Mercedes-Benz GLE’s 300d 4Matic is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, whose maximum power output is 270 hp and peak torque is 550 Nm; it takes 6.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h and goes up to 230 km/h, and the 450 4Matic is offered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged 6-cylinder petrol engine which generates the peak power and torque of 380 hp and 500 Nm, respectively; its 0-100 km/h sprint takes 5.6 seconds and reaches the maximum speed of 250 km/h.
