Toyota Avanza India Launch in Oct 2026 – 7 Seats & Price From ₹6 Lakh
The Indian automobile market is all set to see the launch of a 7-seater car under the ₹10 lakh segment, and that is the multi-purpose vehicle, Toyota Avanza. The Japanese automaker Toyota will launch it in the Indian market, most probably in October 2026.
This launch is part of the brand’s larger strategy, as seen in their plan for Toyota India 2026–27: 5 New SUVs.
The carmaker will reveal its price with the launch; it is expected that it will cost between ₹6 lakh and ₹9 lakh, depending on the variant. Following its launch, it will compete with the other 7-seater Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, Maruti Suzuki XL6, and the recently launched 2026 Renault Triber.
Toyota Avanza

The Avanza is built on Daihatsu New Global Architecture. Its specifications and features for the India launch will be revealed soon. As it is already available for sale in many international markets, the Indian model is expected to be quite similar to that.
The Avanza will be launched with a seating capacity of 7 people in a layout of 2-3-2, featuring a cargo capacity of around 150 litres. However, the third-row rear seats are set to be foldable; doing so will increase the boot space by more than 500 litres. The second-row seats will feature reclining seats that help with backrests during the long journey.
It will feature a spacious cabin so each occupant gets ample legroom, headroom, and shoulder room to travel comfortably. Both the second row and third row will feature sofa-like seats to ensure that even in long-distance travel, one doesn’t feel uncomfortable.
The cabin is expected to be equipped with a 7-inch to 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard, depending on the variant, which will support both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A four-speaker audio system is likely for a good sound experience inside the cabin.

Under the steering wheel, it will feature a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display that shows all driving data; it is expected to be standard across all variants.
Other expected features are multiple bottle-keep spaces in each row, a USB charging port for phone charging, digital AC controls, and a 360-degree panoramic view monitor that helps in parking, push-button start, and keyless entry.
For safety of occupants, it is expected to feature 6 airbags with Vehicle Stability Control and Hill-Start Assist Control, and it also features Toyota Safety Sense in the top trim, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Dimensionally, it is expected to measure 4,395 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height. Its wheelbase is likely to be 2,750 mm, and ground clearance is anticipated to be around 205 mm, which is ideal for Indian road conditions to pass the potholes and speed breakers.
Set to be available in multiple colour options, including Black Sand Pearl, Silver Mica Metallic, Dark Red Mica Metallic, and Nebula Blue Metallic. Up front, it gets an aggressive grille to give a commanding presence on the road and sharp LED headlamps for better visibility at night.
On the sides, it gets traditional door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels with the option of 15-inch and 16-inch for better road grip, and at the back, it features horizontal LED combination lamps in an L-shape, an integrated rear spoiler and a sculpted tailgate.
Expected to be powered by 1.5 litres naturally Aspirated 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve petrol, whose displacement is 1,496 cc. It generates the power of 104 bhp and torque of 138 Nm; transmission options are expected to be 5-speed manual and CVT automatic.
The drivetrain is most likely to be front-wheel drive, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is expected in 12 seconds, and top speed may go up to 170 km. The fuel efficiency for the city and highway is anticipated to be between 12-14 kmpl and 16-18 kmpl, respectively.
