Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift Spotted Testing Again: May Come with Hybrid Tech & ADAS
Maruti Suzuki launched the Fronx, a crossover SUV, back in April 2023, all set to get a mid-life update. The facelift has been spotted testing multiple times on roads, and now it is likely that its introduction in the Indian market will happen around the second quarter of 2026 with the ex-showroom price of 8-12 lakh rupees.
In the most recent spotting the car was heavily camouflaged as earlier spots yet revealed many details which are discussed here.
What’s new?
The roof-mounted sensor and LiDAR unit are visible on its roof, which clearly signifies that the facelift is going to have a Level 2 advanced driving assistant system featuring adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking and other features that make the driving semi-autonomous as well as stress-free.
At the rear of the car, a badge of the hybrid is seen, which clearly states that the facelift will be improved with better fuel efficiency, as it is equipped with an engine, motor and battery which don’t need external power for charging. Expectations are that its mileage may be around 32-25 km/l.
Exterior & Design

The facelift gets many cosmetic changes, similar to what we’ve seen in the Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift sightings.
As it is spotted with its covered body, it’s tough to say what exactly exterior and design changes the car has received. Up front, it is likely to get a new grill for a more modern look, an updated bumper to add ruggedness, and tweaked signature headlamps and DRLs for better visibility.
No major changes are expected for the sides; it will feature the same coupe-like sloping roofline and raised stance, but there’s a possibility of new and large alloy wheels with a unique design that provides better road grip.
The rear is set to get updated LED tail lamps and a light bar mirroring the front lighting signature to make it recognisable even from the back and a tweaked bumper to add simplicity. Reportedly, the facelift will be available with more colour options so the buyers can choose among them.
Space & Dimensions
There’s no change in its facelift. The dimensions in terms of length, width, and height are 3,995 mm, 1,765 mm and 1,550 mm. It will be available with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3, which, with the wheelbase of 2,520 mm, provides ample legroom for all occupants.
Its ground clearance is 190 mm, good for easily tackling the Indian road conditions, i.e., it can navigate through the potholes and speed breakers with ease. The boot space is 308 litres and can easily carry three pieces of big luggage; the second-row seats are made so doing so increases the cargo space.
Interior & Features
The interior is set to feature a double-tone dashboard, with more soft-touch, premium-quality seating and trims. The driver’s seat comes with features for adjusting height so he/she finds the right driving position. Reports say that the front seats are set to be ventilated; if that happens, it will be a big upgrade, as it will make the vehicle more comfortable during the hot days.
The cabin is set to be equipped with a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen for infotainment, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. It will feature a six-speaker sound system for a better audio experience. The voice command and connected tech are also likely. Other notable features are automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start/stop, keyless entry, and six airbags.
Powertrain & Performance
The vehicle will come with a 1.2 litre petrol (Z12E) engine which acts as a generator and may feature a single motor on the rear axle. The setup makes it a front-wheel drive, and the transmission is expected to be e-CVT. The automaker is yet to officially confirm about the hybrid, so power output and peak torque will be revealed near the launch.
