200 cc Bike Under ₹1.5 lakh: Top 3 Best Options for Speed, City Ride and Off-Roading

As of now, in the Indian market, there are a total of three models of 200 cc bikes. The list includes Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Hero XPulse 200 4V. In New Delhi, the first one is available at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹1,34,809, the second at ₹1,37,009 and the third at ₹1,42,547. Let’s have a closer look at each of them.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 comes with a 199.5 cc Liquid-cooled single-cylinder 4-stroke SOHC 4-valve engine, which is bolted with the 6-speed manual gearbox. It features Fuel Injection (FI) with DTS-i (Digital Triple Spark Ignition) technology. The maximum power output is 24.13 bhp, and peak torque is 18.74 Nm. The 0-60 kmph acceleration timing is 3.6 seconds, and the top speed is 136 kmph.

The ARAI-certified range is 40.36 kmpl. Features a fuel tank of 12 litres, meaning its range is 482.32 km. Its kerb weight is 158 kg, ground clearance is 168 mm, wheelbase is 1363 mm, and seat height is 805 mm, giving a comfortable riding position for riders with a height between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet. Its length, width and height are 2,017 mm, 804 mm and 1,075 mm, respectively.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled Ram Air Assist SOHC 4 Valves engine that is mounted with the 5-speed manual gearbox, which features Race-Tuned Fuel Injection (RT-Fi) system and Race-tuned assist and slipper clutch. It comes with three drive modes, which are Urban, Rain and Sports.

The peak power output and torque are 20.54 bhp and 17.25 Nm, respectively, with the Sports mode, and 17.08 bhp and 16.51 Nm in the urban and rain modes. The top speed with the rain and urban mode is 105 km/h, and the same with sport mode is 127 km/h. To accelerate from 0-60 km/h, it takes 3.9 seconds with sport mode and 4.5 seconds with urban and rain mode.

Its ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is 41.9 kmpl, and with a full tank of 12 litres, it gives a range of 502.8 km. Its kerb weight is 151 kg, ground clearance is 180 mm, and wheelbase is 1,353 mm. The braking for the front and rear wheels is managed by a 270 mm Petal Disc with Dual-Channel ABS and a 240 mm Petal Disc with Rear Lift-off Protection, respectively.

Hero XPulse 200 4V

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

The Hero XPulse 200 4V features a 199.6 cc 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder OHC 7-fin oil cooled engine that is equipped with a 5-speed constant mesh manual transmission. Its maximum power output is 18.9 bhp, and peak torque is 17.35 Nm. Its top speed is 115 km/h, and the acceleration timing for 0 to 60 km/h is 4.3 seconds.

It has an ARAI-certified mileage of 32.9 kmpl and a fuel tank of 13 litres. With the full tank, it gives a range of 427.7 km. It comes with a seat height of 825 mm, ground clearance of 220 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,410 mm. The front wheel brake is managed by a 276 mm petal disc with single-channel ABS, and the rear by a 220 mm petal disc.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is an ideal option for speed enthusiasts and highway cruisers because it is the fastest among the list; the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is for the city commuter, as it comes with a smooth engine and riding modes; and the Hero XPulse 200 4V is for the rider who loves off-roading because it has high ground clearance.
