On the annual Community Day 2026, Ather Energy, an Indian EV manufacturer, has finally launched the most awaited electric scooter, Ather Konarc. The company says that it is all set to be available for sale in the Indian market in two versions: S and Z. For now, they have launched only three variants of the S version; one is still awaited, and Z will go on sale in two variants; they will both make their debut later. This e-scooter is all set to compete with Ola S1 X, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida VX2 Go, and others.
The Konarc S is available for sale in three variants depending on the range; they are 100 km, 125 km, and 161 km variants with the ex-servicemen price of ₹99,999, ₹121,999, and ₹144,999, respectively. Their delivery is all set to begin in September 2026, and the same for the first one will start in the first quarter of 2027. They have officially confirmed that delivery for the remaining S variant will take place in the third quarter of 2027 and two Z variants in the second quarter of 2027.
Color options and design.
A total of 5 color options are available for the S variant, and Z will go on sale with only 4. They both have Quartz White with Blue, Majestic Grey with Black, Celestial Gold with Blue, and Lumen Copper with Black. One more color for the S version is still undisclosed. It features handlebar-mounted LED headlamps and a rearview mirror, a V-shaped LED daylight running light on the front apron, and illuminated letters just above the DRL strip.

Its sides have an upright riding stance, a long single-piece seat for better seating comfort of the rider and pillion, a spacious floorboard, practical proportions aimed at metal bodyworks, and a foldable footpeg for the pillion. At the back, it gets a backrest with a soft cushion and also a grab rail, a C-shaped LED taillight mirroring front-end lighting, the ATHER letter on the black trim placed above the taillight, and rear fenders that have horizontal reflectors.
Underpinning, suspension, and braking.
This newly launched scooter is based on Ather’s new EL platform, which has a steel unibody chassis with metal body panels. Its front and rear suspension are telescopic forks with 90 mm and shock absorbers with 100 mm travel, respectively. Get 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheels with 90/90 and 100/90 tires, respectively.

The 100 km variant gets 130 mm drum brakes on both wheels, but the 125 km and 161 km variants get a 220 mm solid disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear. The remaining S and two upcoming Z trims are most anticipated to get 220 mm solid discs at both ends.
Features and technology.
The base variant gets a 4.2-inch DeepView display, and the last two are equipped with a 7-inch DeepView display. This display supports Bluetooth connectivity, and the features SIM connectivity are available in the last two trims. Other features that this screen offers are the Ather App integration with the OTA software updates and call and music alerts.

Features such as Magic Key for keyless access, AirWalk for moving the scooter easily, AutoHold for holding the scooter automatically on an incline, Reverse Park Assist for slow backward moving, USB charging for phone charging convenience, and Brand’s Advanced Electronic Braking System for effective and safe braking further enhance this e-scooter’s premiumness.
Battery pack, IDC range, and all other core specs.
The 100 km, 125 km, and 161 km IDC range variants are equipped with the lithium-ion battery pack of 2.1 kWh, 2.7 kWh, and 3.5 kWh, respectively, which have aluminum casing, and they also have IP67-rated protection against water and dust. The real-world range is set to vary depending on driving style, road condition, and weather.
The top speed for all these three variants is 70 km/h, good for city driving; the similar maximum speeds are also offered with the rivals. This scooter has a swingarm-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers the power of 4 kW and 4.7 kW for the first one and last two variants, respectively, with the 16 Nm torque.
They are available with three driving modes, which are SmartEco, Eco, and Power. Its gradability is 16 degrees. The acceleration timing for 0 to 40 km/h is 5 seconds for the 100 km variant, but the 125 km and 161 km trims take 4.7 seconds.
The standard 450W onboard charger takes 4 hours, 4 hours 30 minutes, and 5 hours 40 minutes for 2.1 kWh, 2.7 kWh, and 3.5 kWh, respectively. With an additional 450W charger, the charging time is 2 hours for 100 km, 2 hours 25 minutes for 125 km, and 3 hours 10 minutes for the 161 km variant.
