The Indian automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed that they are going to introduce an adventure motorcycle in the Indian market; firstly, the model will make its debut in Brazil, and then it will come to India. Talking to the media personnel, Waldyr Ferreira, Executive Director of Bajaj Brazil, said that soon an adventure motorcycle will be launched; he didn’t reveal any exact date but said it would arrive around Christmas 2026.
As the model is going to make its Indian debut after the Brazil launch, expectations are high that in the Indian market it will go on sale in the first quarter of 2027. This upcoming adventure motorcycle from Bajaj Auto has already been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads but is camouflaged. The spied image shows that this upcoming bike has telescopic forks with long travel, spiked wheels with disc brakes, and a long front fender.
Other details that are revealed through the spy shots of the test mule are the circular LED projector headlamps, upright seat, handlebar-mounted rear-view mirror, pulsar-inspired rear section with split taillight, large single-piece seat with black upholstery, sculpted fuel tank, foldable footpegs for rider and pillion, grab rail to secure handhold for pillion and mount luggage, digital instrument cluster, upswept exhaust, and saree guard for safety.
Baja Auto will reveal its dimensions at the launch event; likely the rival it may have a wheelbase of around 1.4 metres and ground clearance of 220 mm to ensure better stability at high speeds and help with off-roading, respectively. Seeing the spy shots, at the front end it gets a 19-inch wheel but a 17-inch unit at the rear. A double-channel anti-locking braking system is certain, but it would be switchable for the rear so the rider may turn it off during the off-road and keep it active on the highway and in the city.
Powertrain details are not available in the public domain. A report from RushLane, where they talked about the spied images, suggests that the upcoming flagship adventure offering may borrow the powertrain from the KTM Adventure 250, because some elements appear quite similar to KTM’s liquid-cooled single-cylinder architecture. Notably, the KTM’s bike has a 249.07 cc 4-stroke ICE with a bore and stroke of 72 × 61.1 mm and a compression ratio of 12.63:1.
The KTM’s engine comes with a six-speed gearbox and also features an assist and slipper clutch and ride-by-wire (+/bidirectional), which generates the maximum power of 31 PS at 9,250 rpm and peak torque of 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The nameplate of this upcoming ADV bike is still undisclosed by the manufacturer; we are anticipating it to be the Bajaj Trekker in India because they have already trademarked the name.
Details regarding its India launch are yet to be revealed. After the launch, it will compete with the Yezdi Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, and Hero Xpulse 210; details regarding its price are also uncertain, but reports suggest it to be around ₹2 lakh, ex-showroom. In July 2026, the best-selling adventure bike was the Hero Xpulse 200 with 4,649 units; on a month-on-month basis, it recorded a growth of 57% with 1,692 more sales.
Bajaj Auto, which doesn’t have any adventure motorcycles in the lineup, sold a total of 165,747 units of two-wheelers and exported 222,972 units. The overall 2W sales were 388,719 units; on a month-on-month basis, they recorded degrowth of 0.17% with 676 fewer sales, but on the year-on-year basis, their sales increased by 90,235 units, registering a growth of 30.23%.
