Škoda India, the Indian subsidiary of Czech automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto, will launch the fourth-generation Skoda Superb, an executive sedan, in the first half of 2027 with the diesel-powered internal combustion engine. Its third generation was on sale in the Indian market until 2020 and made a comeback on 3 April 2024 with only 100 units via the completely built unit route.
The fourth-generation global debut took place in November 2023, after which they showcased it at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on 17 January 2025, hinting at its India launch. 3 and ½ years after the global debut, and almost 2 years after its showcase in India, they are going to launch it in the Indian market by importing it as a CBU.
There’s no confirmed date for the fourth-gen Skoda Superb diesel; the anticipated date for its launch in the Indian market is early 2026. It is already on sale in the international market with a 1,968cc 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI turbocharged diesel-powered internal combustion engine, which generates the maximum power of 193 hp (142 kW) and peak torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
The ICE is mated with the 7-speed double-clutch automatic transmission, whose drivetrain is four-wheel-drive. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 7.5 seconds, and the top speed is 238 km/h. On the Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure condition, its fuel efficiency is 6 liters per 100 km, which translates to 16.7 km per liter.
The same internal combustion engine with the gearbox option is also available with the front-wheel-drive drivetrain, which delivers 150 hp (110 kW) power and 360 Nm torque. But its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 9.2 seconds, and its top speed is 220 km/h. Its mileage under the WLTP condition is 5 liters per 100 km (20 km per liter).
In the Indian market, the fourth-gen Skoda Superb diesel is reportedly anticipated to come with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The dimensions in terms of length, width, and height are 4,912 mm, 1,849 mm, and 1,481 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,841 mm, and ground clearance is 138 mm. The one coming to India will have high ground clearance to make the vehicle ideal for Indian roads.
As a five-seater, it is set to feature a boot space of 645 liters behind the second row. Its rear seats support 60:40 folding. Folding the second-row seats enhances the cargo capacity up to 1,795 liters. The one showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 had a new octagonal Škoda grille, integrated LED daylight running lights and main headlamps, and a sculpted bonnet with the Skoda logo, the same as the internal model.
Other details that we get to see on the exterior of that model were flared wheel arches, front door-mounted outside rear-view mirrors with slim horizontal-shaped blinkers, mechanical door handles, large 16-spoke alloy wheels, Skoda lettering on the tailgate, slim LEDs bracketing the LED taillamps on the edges, black bumper cladding with horizontal reflectors, and a large rear windshield.
The design of the upcoming Skoda Superb executive sedan in India will be the same in terms of design and sold internationally; a few tweaks or changes may be made to make it appealing to Indian drivers. Inside the cabin, there will be a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the center of the dashboard and a 10-inch digital instrument display under the steering wheel.
