The Jaguar Type 01, a pure-electric luxury grand tourer from Jaguar, a British luxury automobile manufacturer, is all set to make its global debut on October 6, 2026, in New York, United States. Prior to that, they have released the interior image showing what its cabin is like and what it offers.
This upcoming electric vehicle from Jaguar is the second pure-electric model after the Jaguar I-Pace, which debuted back in 2018, almost eight years ago from today. Notably, its exterior is still under the wrap, and there’s no probability that they will unveil its design before the scheduled debut date.
How’s its interior?
Features a four-person seating capacity in a 2-2 layout; the front row has two seats, one for a co-passenger and another for the driver. The second row does have two separate seats for passengers. Notably, it has a full-length center spine with a prominent brass-finish structure, which not only separates the front-row seats but also the rear, creating four different sections inside the cabin, adding more premiumness.
The drive seat is positioned lower to give the feel of a GT; before that, it had a two-spoke steering wheel with haptic control and Jaguar lettering to reflect branding. The fully digital instrument cluster is placed behind the steering wheel. In the front row, the center spine gets a small touchscreen for claimant control, which further improves its aesthetic and makes it more appealing.
It does not have a rear windshield. For a rear view, it has a digital rear-view camera that is positioned centrally at the front windshield base. The setup of the screen inside the cabin has been named “hidden/on-demand technology” by Jaguar. Before the co-passenger seat, it has strikethrough elements, creating a distinctive design signature.
Other notable features inside the cabin are a panoramic low-swooping roof, which may feature customizable lighting to give a broader view of the sky; double-toned upholstery for sculpted seats with enhanced seating comfort; Travertine-inspired materials for an architectural and lounge-like feel; and Jaguar Leaper logos in the upper sections of doors for brand identity as well as styling.
Any exterior details?
As mentioned above, they are yet to reveal its exterior. Notably, many exterior images are already floating on the web on which this upcoming all-electric GT is heavily camouflaged. These images of the car confirm that it has a closed-off front fascia for better aerodynamics and lower active air intakes for cooling of electronic components.
Other features that are revealed through the cataloged exterior images are large alloy wheels with flared wheel arches improving the road presence; front-door-mounted outside rear-view mirrors to get a clear view of traffic behind; hidden flush-type door handles to improve efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag; and a long wheelbase for better high speed.
What about the powertrain?
Built on the JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) with an electric motor on the front axle and two on the rear, the combined power output is anticipated to be above 1,000 hp. Under the floor, it is set to have a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, giving a pure-electric range of 700 kilometers.
Details regarding its electrical architecture are still pending, likely to be based on 800-volt high voltage. Anticipated to support 5c charging, which is expected to add more than 250 kilometers of range within just 10 minutes of charging.
Its acceleration timing, top speed, maximum charging output and timings, and all the pending details will be revealed with the global debut, scheduled for October 6, 2026. We are expecting it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph.
