Toyota India, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota, launched the 2026 Toyota Hilux on July 29, 2026, with ex-showroom prices of ₹31.99 lakh, ₹33.69 lakh, and ₹36.69 lakh for the GX 4×2 AT, GX 4×4 AT, and VX 4×4 AT variants, respectively. The booking has been started with the launch, and now they are all set to start delivery from the second week of August 2026.
Compared to the outgoing model, its base variant is costlier by ₹3.47 lakh and its top-end by ₹0.69 lakh. The new one is only available with automatic transmission; they have discontinued the variant that was available with a manual gearbox. Its main rival in the Indian market is the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. The length, width, and height are 5,320 mm, 1,855 mm, and 1,815 mm, respectively.
Features a wheelbase of 3,085 mm, ground clearance of 216 mm, fuel tank capacity of 80 liters, and turning radius of 6.4 meters. Comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout with a boot space of 435 liters and a payload capacity of 500 kg. Under the hood, it gets a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel-powered internal combustion engine, which is mated with the 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
The internal combustion engine’s displacement is 2,755 cc, its power output is 204 hp (150 kW), and its peak torque is 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). Two drivetrain options are available, which are rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 10.7 seconds, and the top speed is 175 km/h. Its real-world mileage for city driving is 10 km/h and 13 km/L for high cruising.
Gives the range of 800 km for city driving and 1040 km for highway cruising. It is built on IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) body-on-frame architecture using the high-strength ladder-frame chassis, featuring independent double wishbones as front suspension and a rigid axle with leaf springs as rear.
It has rack-and-pinion steering with power-assisted steering. Front wheels get ventilated disc brakes, and rear wheels feature drum brakes. The all-wheel-drive variant comes with a part-time 4WD system, a low-range transfer case, an electronic differential lock, an auto limited-slip differential, active traction control, downhill assist control, and five terrain modes, including Auto, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock.
Come in Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red, and Super White. Upfront, it has bold ‘TOYOTA’ lettering on the honeycomb grille, giving an aggressive and off-road-inspired appearance; slim LED headlamps to provide brighter and wider illumination; LED daytime running lamps to be more visible to other road users; and LED front fog lamps.
Other notable features on the front end are an aggressive front bumper with sharp contours and large air intakes giving it a tougher, silver skid plate to shield vital components and a sculpted bonnet with prominent character lines and raised contours. The sides have 17-inch alloy wheels, giving lighter and stronger black wheel-arch cladding to shield the body from stones, mud, and road debris.
In profile, it also features side steps for easier ingress and egress, a roll bar that gives a rugged lifestyle look, a selectively adjustable and retractable outside rear-view mirror for optimal rear visibility, body-colored door handles for a premium appearance, and a shark-fin antenna for the compact and aerodynamic design.
The rear has vertically stacked LED taillamps with a C-shaped light signature for brighter illumination and responds faster than conventional bulbs; a tailgate with bold ‘TOYOTA’ lettering to reflect branding; an open cargo bed for carrying luggage; and a secure attachment point for towing trailers.
Inside, it has a 7-inch instrument cluster under the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Other notable features are a wireless smartphone charger, cruise control, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera.
