At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, the Japanese multinational automobile and motorcycle manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, showcased the Suzuki Vision e-Sky concept, a compact pure-electric hatchback. The production model of the same has been spotted testing with heavy camouflage to hide the exterior design. The spy shots floating on the web reflect that its design is quite similar to the concept.
The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed the nameplate for the production model. Reports suggest that it will be known as the Suzuki e-Sky, and firstly make its debut in the European market in 2027 with the price under the 20,000 euros, which translates to 21.88 lakh rupees. Following the launch in Europe, it will take on the Renault Twingo, the Dacia Spring, the FIAT 500 and the Leapmotor T03.
The spy shots of test mules reveals it has upright and flat front fascia, project LED headlamps just below the hood, lower air intakes for cooling of battery pack and electric motor, A-pillar mounted outside rear view mirror with integrated blinkers, flush-type handles for both doors, roof-integrated spoiler with braking light, C-shaped pixel-style LED tail lamps, rear bumper integrated vertical shape reflector and large rear windshield.
This upcoming electric vehicle Suzuki is built-in on Dedicated micro-EV skateboard architecture. They have not revealed anything about the suspension. It is expected to get a MacPherson strut at front and a Torsion beam at rear. Details regarding the braking are still pending, but many automotive media reports say it will get a solid disc for the front wheel, and a drum for the rear wheel, standard in the segment.
Instead of conventional handbrakes, it is highly expected to use an electronic parking brake, which enhances convenience. For the braking safety, it is certain to get with an anti-locking braking system which prevents the wheel locking in case of sudden braking, and electric brake distribution which disturbs the braking force between the axles to make the braking stable.
In terms of dimension, only its length is available inside the public domain, which is 3,395 mm. For clarity, it is 394 mm, 306 mm, 237 mm, and 225 mm shorter than Renault Twingo E-Tech, Dacia Spring, Fiat 500e, and Leapmotor T03, respectively. The shorter length of this Suzuki upcoming electric vehicle helps with better manoeuvrability and easier parking even in a compact area.
As an electric vehicle, it is all set to get a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The electric motor is set to be on the front axle with single-speed automatic transmission. The setup makes this EV a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. Under the floor, it is certain to get a lithium-ion battery pack around 25 kWh to 30 kWh, which is set to run up to 270 kilometres on WLTP condition.
The interior is still undisclosed. Reports suggest that it will be similar to the concept, which gets a three-spoke squared steering wheel with physical buttons, two displays of the same size on the dashboard, one under the steering wheel as digital instrument cluster, and another at the centre of the dashboard as infotainment system.
