Renault Kwid Gets a Sharper Look With New Y-Shaped LED Lighting

Renault India, the Indian subsidiary of French automobile manufacturer Renault, is all set to launch the facelift version of the Renault Kwid on July 3, 2026, with many exterior and interior upgrades. Besides these, the car is all set to remain the same in all terms.

The Kwid’s facelift is set to be a little costlier than the outgoing model. Currently, it is available for sale with the ex-showroom price between ₹4.30 lakh and ₹5.99 lakh. As of now, there’s no word for its successor’s ex-showroom price.

We are expecting that they will introduce it with an ex-showroom cost of ₹5 lakh. Following the launch of the refreshed version, it will give more tough competition to its rivals, which are the Tiago from Tata Motors and the Alto K10 from Maruti Suzuki.

The facelift has new Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and taillamps, giving a modern lighting signature; redesigned front and rear bumpers to enhance its styling; and a fresh alloy wheel design, adding a dynamic side view and enhancing road presence.

Inside, it may get a new design and upgraded steering wheel on the dashboard, enhancing interior styling; a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a smooth interface; an upgraded instrument cluster; and six airbags to improve occupants’ safety.

Set to get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood. The transmission options will be five-speed manual and five-speed automated manual (Easy-R).

The ICE cranks up to 67 bhp power and a peak torque of 91 Nm, which helps the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in under 7 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h.

With a manual transmission, it gives the ARAI-certified mileage of 21.7 kmpl, but the same with automatic is 22.5 kmpl. Real-world fuel efficiency is anticipated to be between 17 kmpl and 19 kmpl, depending on driving style and road conditions.

Built on Renault’s CMF-A (Common Module Family-A) architecture featuring a front-wheel drivetrain, whose front suspension is a MacPherson strut with a lower transverse link and whose rear is a twist beam axle with coil springs.

Get disc brakes for the front wheel and a drum for the rear and a manual parking handbrake. To ensure the safe braking, it also features an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA).

Dimensionally, it measures 3,731 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width and 1,490 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,422 mm, ground clearance is 184 mm, and turning radius is 4.9 m.

Kwid facelift Cabin spotted

Will make its debut with the seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3, and there’s no change in dimensions; the boot space is set to remain 279 litres, which helps in easily carrying small luggage. The fuel tank capacity is 28 litres, with an average mileage of 15 kmpl, giving a range of 420 km.

Notably, the Alto K10 is available with the ex-showroom price between ₹3.70 lakh and ₹5.45 lakh and the Tiago with ₹4.70 lakh and ₹8.55 lakh. Compared to the former and latter ones’ base variants, the facelift of the Kwid is expected to be costlier by ₹1.3 lakh and ₹0.3 lakh, respectively.

Renault India first introduced the Kwid back in May 2015; since then, it has received many upgrades. In May 2026, they sold only 300 units, 240 lower than May 2025 sales, registering a YOY decline of 44%. In April 2026, its sales were 410; compared to the same, in May 2026, it reduced by 11p units, registering MoM degrowth of 27%.

After the Renault Kwid facelift launch, we may get to see an increase in the sales number. June 2026 sales figures are expected to be below even 300; in July 2026, they may cross the figure of 1,000.
