Mahindra & Mahindra’s Vision S is spotted testing on the road in Tamil Nadu, which seems to be production-ready. In the spy shots shared online, the vehicle is highly camouflaged. However, it reveals many details about its exterior. At first sight, it looks similar to the Vision S because of its tall silhouette, which the carmaker showcased at the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai in August 2026.
By closely analysing the image, you will find that it will feature headlights in a round housing; we expect that the LED daylight running lights will form a ring shape under which there may be two units of LED projectors for low beam and high beam. Expected to get a honeycomb-structure grille with six slots like the Scorpio N, giving a modern touch, and the bumper with a silver skid plate.
On the sides, it seems to get mechanical door handles for better practicality, squared-off wheel arches to add ruggedness, five flat-spoke alloy wheels in black, and outside rear-view windows in black with integrated blinkers. The spy shots don’t show the rear of the vehicle. As shown in the concept, it may get a side-opening tailgate, a higher-mounted brake light, and a rugged bumper.

Dimensions are still pending. The length is expected to be under 4 metres with a wheelbase around 2.6 metres, giving good legroom for rear-seating passengers. It is certain that it will feature high ground clearance, which makes it eligible for light off-roading.
As of now, they haven’t revealed its production name. Set to be built on NU_IQ architecture, which supports both internal combustion engines and electric powertrains. Firstly, the carmaker will introduce it to the Indian market with a petrol-powered internal combustion engine, and then we will get to see it launch as a pure-electric version.
It is likely that the carmaker will introduce the ICE version to the Indian market somewhere in 2027, but its reveal may take place in late 2026; reportedly, they will slot it between the Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Mahindra Scorpio N. On the other hand, the launch of the EV version is expected by 2028.

The ICE may borrow the engine and transmission from the XUV 3XO, which is available for sale with three engine options: 1.2L Turbo Petrol, 1.2L TGDi Petrol, and 1.5L Turbo Diesel, whose specifications are shared inside the table below for convenience.
| Engine | Specification | ||||
| Type | Power | Torque | Transmission | Drivetrain | |
| 1.2L Turbo Petrol (mStallion TCMPFi) | 3-cylinder turbo petrol | 111 hp | 200 Nm | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT | FWD |
| 1.2L TGDi Turbo Petrol (mStallion TGDi) | 3-cylinder direct-injection turbo petrol | 130 hp | 230 Nm | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT | FWD |
| 1.5L Turbo Diesel (mHawk) | 4-cylinder turbo diesel | 117 hp | 300 Nm | 6-speed MT / 6-speed AMT | FWD |
For the pure-electric version based on Vision S, there are no details in the public domain. However, some reports suggest that it will come as a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle with a single-speed automatic transmission.
The cockpit of this upcoming car is set to be totally unique, with a modern dashboard with soft-touch trim. Inside, it may feature a horizontally orientated touchscreen infotainment system and a slim, fully digital instrument cluster before the driving seat.
The steering wheel is anticipated to be a two-spoke design with the brand-new design that will get buttons for physical control. Set to be introduced with a five-person seating layout, front seats are highly expected to be ventilated to ensure better comfort for the driver and co-passenger.
