On June 13, 2026, Hyundai finally launched the most-awaited hatchback, the fourth-generation i20, in the Brazilian market in a total of six variants: Comfort, Limited MT, Limited AT, X-Line, Platinum, and Ultimate. The price ranges from BRL 99,990 to BRL 139,990 (INR 18.77 lakh to INR 26.29 lakh). In the company’s portfolio in Brazil, it sits above the HB20 and Creta. Its main competitors in Brazil are the Toyota Yaris hatchback, the Chevrolet Onix and the Volkswagen Polo.
Introduced with the seating capacity of 5 people in the same layout as the outgoing model, 2-3, dimensionally, it is 90 mm longer, 5 mm wider, and 10 mm shorter than its predecessor. The length, width, and height are 4,130 mm, 1,780 mm, and 1,495 mm, respectively. The wheelbase remains the same, 2,580 mm, and boot space is increased by 35 litres; now it is 346 litres. The ground clearance is 165 mm, 5 mm lower, but good enough to pass the potholes and speed breakers.
Inside the cabin, it gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster under the three-spoke steering wheel, showing all the driving data, and also a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard, exactly above the central console. They look connected, giving a high-tech appearance. The steering wheel comes with Hyundai’s quad-dot logo, mounting the controls and paddle shifters.

There’s a wireless phone charger on the centre console for the convenience of the driver and co-passenger. The infotainment system features built-in 5G connectivity; over-the-air software updates; Hyundai Bluelink connected-car technology; wireless multiple-device connectivity via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth for video and audio streaming; and an AI-based voice assistant that does touch-based functions over natural voice commands.
The cabin also features USB ports for both front and rear rows for wired phone charging; an electronic parking brake switch, pulling which locks the rear wheel and helps; physical buttons for air conditioning to ensure better practicality; automatic climate control that maintains the cabin temperature as per setting; and an emergency SOS button near the roof console which connects the car with the nearest assistance service for help.
For safety, it gets six airbags and is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense advanced driving assistant system suite, which features Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, which alerts while the car is about to collide with the vehicle ahead and also brakes itself to stop the car; Lane Keeping Assist, which keeps the car in lane by avoiding unintentionally drifting; Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, which alerts when the vehicle ahead starts moving after the green signal; and others.

Outside, it features full-width daylight running lights that form the letter ‘H’ styling to give it a modern touch; bumper-integrated rectangular headlights ensure better visibility for night driving; a large hexagonal-style grille with sharp details makes its front end eye-catching; circled wheel arch cladding adds ruggedness; mechanical door handles enhance practicality; and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels give it a bold road presence.
Other notable features on the exterior are body-coloured outside rear-view mirrors that are electrically adjustable to get a better view of traffic behind; blacked-out window trims that not only enhance the side look but also give it a distinct styling; full-width C-shape through-type taillights that create a wide stance; a shark-fin antenna that houses an antenna for connected car tech and 5G connectivity; an integrated spoiler that reduces turbulence at high speed; and a sportier bumper that adds sportiness.
It is built on the new third-generation K3 platform featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. Under the hood, it gets a 3-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre TGDI Flex petrol internal combustion engine that is mated with the 6-speed automatic transmission, which delivers the peak power of 115 hp and torque of 172 Nm. To accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph, it takes 11.7 seconds, and the top speed of the car is 184 kmph.
