2026 Tesla Model Y Premium RWD launched

The American automobile manufacturer Tesla’s Indian subsidiary Tesla India launched the 2026 Tesla Model Y Premium RWD with the ex-showroom price of ₹50.89 lakh; compared to the Tesla Model Y L Premium AWD, it is ₹11.10 lakh cheaper, which is already discontinued in the Indian market. Reportedly, following the launch of May 29, 2026, the delivery for buyers will begin in July 2026.

Notably, it gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is mounted on the rear axle, featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. It uses the single-speed automatic transmission, like its competitors, which are the Kia EV6, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and the BYD Sealion 7. A report from AutocarIndia claims that it is powered by a 64 kWh LFP battery pack, which has a range of 500 km on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure.
