The Tata Aeris CNG has been spotted in the showroom without any camouflage, exactly a day before the launch. The design of this upcoming sedan has been exposed before the launch. The spy shots of this imminent car are shared by RushLane, revealing the design.
These spy images confirm that the Tata Aeris arrival at the dealership across the country has begun. It also confirms that on September 25, 2026, the Indian carmaker Tata Motors won’t only launch the pure-petrol but also a CNG-powered model.
Exterior design revealed.
The Tata Aeris CNG’s front-end has horizontal-shaped LED headlights that integrate both daylight running light and low beam and high beam; they are connected with the black trim at the center that has the Tata logo for branding.
Other details that are clearly visible on its front end are a gloss-black applique, a clamshell bonnet, and a black bumper with C-shaped design elements giving the appearance of its predecessor, the Tata Tigor.
The spy image suggests that the spied model is base one, because the fog lamps aren’t available on it. The teaser image already confirmed the bumper-integrated fog lamps, which are expected to be available exclusively for the top trim.
The sides have compact three-box sedan proportions, a coupe-like sloping roofline, a sharply styled side profile, a shark-fin antenna, and alloy wheels on top trim, and steel wheels are standard for the base variant.
The A-pillar mounted outside the rearview mirror with integrated side indicators, pull-type door handles, and flared wheel arches bracketing wheels are clearly visible on the sides.
Its rear has the connected LED taillamps available on the tailgate with the Tata logo at the center, a roof-integrated spoiler with a slim horizontal braking light, a bumper with an integrated vertical reflector, and a horizontal parking light.
Powertrain may be retained from the outgoing Tata Tigor.
The upcoming Tata Aeris is coming as the successor of the Tata Tigor, with many upgrades and improvements on the body and inside the cabin. Instead of introducing a facelift for the existing model, they are going to launch it with a new name, giving it a fresh identity.
As the Tata Aeris is actually a facelift for the Tata Tigor, we are expecting that its CNG model powertrain will remain the same as the outgoing model. A 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood with a five-speed manual transmission may be offered.
If it retains the ICE we are expecting, this upcoming car will deliver 86 PS and 113 Nm with up to petrol, but crank only 73.4 PS and 95 Nm. The front-wheel drive drivetrain and 28.06 km per kg fuel efficiency are certain. Even its top speed and 0 to 100 kmph acceleration timing may remain the same.
Expected interior features.
The cabin may get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Behind the steering wheel, it will have a wide digital instrument cluster that will show all the driving data clearly. Reports suggest the 360-degree camera and dashcam functionality.
Soft-touch trim for the dashboard and doors and premium-like fabric upholstery are certain. Other features that we are most likely to see inside the cabin are front and rear armrests, dedicated air conditioning vents in the second row, connected car technology, and ventilated front seats.
Price and rivals.
The price for the Tata Aeris CNG will be announced with the launch. Tata Motors will announce them by launching this car. Reports suggest it costs ex-showroom around ₹9 lakh. Following the launch, the CNG model will be complete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG and Hyundai Aura CNG.
